The Luminous Egg in Steal An Egg

The Luminous Egg is not one of the eggs you steal. It is bought from the in-game shop, which makes it the update's second kind of egg: the biome eggs you carry out of a nest, and the shop eggs you pay for.

What changed in Update 4

The Luminous Egg replaced the Monster Egg, which had been the shop's Robux egg. The two work the same way in outline — you buy them, they open for a pet, and they carry a chance at a variant rather than the standard version. The Luminous Egg's variant is the luminous one, a version of the same pet with boosted stats.

Nothing in the patch notes claims the new egg is better than the old one. It is a replacement, not a stated upgrade, so treat any claim that its odds improved as unconfirmed. Existing Monster Eggs are also not confirmed to have lost value — the updates removed it from the shop, they did not say anything about ones already in inventories.

How it fits with the biome eggs

Update 4 added two more eggs at the same time, and they are not interchangeable with this one:

  • Angel Egg and Demon Egg — stolen from the Angels & Demons biome at night, behind the 20B Speed gate. Each one carries a chance at its side's Divine pet.
  • Luminous Egg — bought from the shop. It does not depend on Speed, a biome, or the night cycle, and it is the route to luminous variants rather than to the biome's 16 pets.

What is not published

The price in Robux, the list of pets it can produce, the odds of a luminous re-roll, and whether the odds differ per pet. Numbers for the old Monster Egg circulate online, but they describe the retired egg and are not confirmed for this one, so this page prints none of them.

Common questions

Is the Luminous Egg the same as the Monster Egg?

It replaced it. The Monster Egg is no longer the shop's egg; the Luminous Egg took its place, and the variant it can produce is the luminous one — the same pet with boosted stats.

Can you still get a Monster Egg?

It is no longer sold in the shop. Nothing published says existing Monster Eggs lost value, so there is no confirmed reason to discard one.

How much does the Luminous Egg cost?

No price has been published, so this site does not list one. It is bought with Robux in the in-game shop.

What are the odds of a luminous variant?

Not published. Any percentage you see quoted for this egg is either estimated or carried over from the retired Monster Egg, and neither is confirmed.

Where this comes from: the mechanics on this page are consistent across several independent day-one guides and the update's patch notes; rarity names and the Speed gate agree everywhere they were checked. Values nobody has published — income per second for these pets, shop prices, hatch odds, the per-side guardian — are left out rather than estimated. Anything you need to be sure of, confirm in-game.
